The number of words written about George Best would fill a small library. The stories of his gambling, womanising and drinking are as well known as his footballing exploits. This though was not the Irishman's choice, George was ultimately only interested in the footballing. Phil Hughes was George's best friend and agent for almost 20 years. On numerous occasions, George told him that he would like to be remembered for his football - so Phil decided his wish should be committed to print. Paul Collier had worked with Phil and George and his knowledge of everything Best made him the ideal person to compile the book. Remember Me For My Football contains all the facts and statistics of George's career. Every match from his first appearances at junior level through to his last testimonial and charity appearances are listed along with other interesting facts and figures. While other publications may claim to be the definitive Best book - this one simply is. Supported by George from its conception, it is the ultimate tribute to one of the world's greatest footballers.

============================================

For all fans of the Belfast Boy Wonder, this book is what we've all been waiting for - a detailed account of George Best's playing career. From his glorious performances in Manchester United's successful teams in the late '60s, through his headline- grabbing appearances for Northern Ireland, to his lesser known matches playing for the likes of the Jewish Guild in Johannesburg, this authorative account covers every game that Best appeared in - including every guest appearance in a variety of friendlies and testimonials. There are some fascinating facts and figures in there - and the book looks great too; just like its eponymous hero. Whilst there have been numerous books that have covered Best's womanising and drinking, this splendid tome is purely interested in his playing career - something which George Best's talent thoroughly deserves. And don't bother to look for any mistakes or omissions in there because I suspect you won't find any (one or two minor typos excepted). As detailed an account as you're likely to find.
